Part I

Note: Parts II and III follow below, complete all three.

Write a 350- to 700-word response to the following: Explain the communication process of neurons in the brain. List some common neurotransmitters and describe their effect on behavior.

The communication process of neurons in the brain A brain of an average human contains approximately 100 billion nerve cells or best known as neurons. Neurons perform as information transmitters and receivers to other neurons or to muscles in the body. Neurons have these tiny fibers that extend from the body of the cell and its main function is to receive incoming messages and transmit them to the main cell. Outgoing messages to other neurons and muscles or glands are carried out by a single long fiber called the axon. Axons are covered with a white fatty tissue called myelin sheath. The myelin sheath provides insulation to avoid signals from other neurons to interfere with each other and it also increases speed when signals are been transmitted. Motor neurons carry messages from the spinal cord or the brain to the muscles and glands. Al l neurons in the nervous system only speak one language ON or OFF electrochemical impulses. The communication process of neurons in the work by impulses or what it’s also called firing. When a neuron receives a message from other neurons it automatically excites the neuron or tells the neuron to fire. This term is also known as electrochemical impulse or discharge. After the neuron has fired, it returns to a resting state and remains ready to fire again. During resting state more positive charge ions remain on the outside of the neuron and negative charged ions remain on the inside. During the action or excitement phase, Ion exchange process begins by positively charge Ions are mixed with negatively…...

...goals during a reading session is to take short breaks and process the material more efficiently. Then finally the reviewing process, when reviewing the material taking a glance at any notes I've took, also markings or outlines. Also reading over the information out loud while reviewing helps when finding out if having valid information. Strategies that would suit better to be effective for me would be writing down unfamiliar terms that I’m not known to nor not seen in a sentence. Then do research to see, how that term was used in either another meaning or has a relation to an another word. Best thing when learning newer terms is to integrated within your writing or having conservations with others to learn how to use them properly. existing lists and Another strategy I would use using the term or word whether in conversation or writing as it would help me familiarize myself more with the term or word. I learned a lot of new applications that I will definitely utilize. I have used Previewing a few times in the past but have never made a habit of it. I think it will be a great thing to start using though. It allows you to get a great feel for how long the chapter is and how long it should take you to read. As well as giving you an idea of what the main topics are going to be. Marking is a great way to condense an entire chapter into just the important ideas. That way when it comes time to studying you already have the important parts highlighted or underlined. I have......

The Outline

...The Outline Assignment Explanation: Before attempting to write a first draft, students should always create as detailed an outline as possible. This means you will have to think through your entire paper before you begin to write it. This is imperative given the required length of the Research Paper. Six to ten pages is not something you should try to intuitively write. If you try to “wing it” you will take much longer than you need to write the paper, and you will find it hard to keep on track. Your paper will feel disorganized and you will inevitably include irrelevant information. Here is the easiest pattern I can suggest for your papers: 1. You will need an introduction that introduces your topic, provides relevant background on your topic, and then transitions to your thesis statement. Your thesis should be a two-fold thesis statement. 2. In APA style, it is common to divide a research paper into different sections. These sections can be the arguments you make to prove your thesis. In English 101, you wrote five paragraph essays: an Introduction, three Body Paragraphs, and a Conclusion. The pattern was to have a thesis for which you made three arguments. Each argument was one of the three paragraphs. For English 102, simply take that pattern and expand it. What does that mean? If you have three main arguments to prove your thesis, each argument should be a section of the paper. The pattern is as follows: I. Introduction II. Section I ......

...an outline naturally organizes the information in a highly structured, logical manner, forming a skeleton of the textbook chapter or lecture subject that serves as an excellent study guide when preparing for tests. This method of note taking is extremely useful in most instances; however, in classes, such as math or chemistry, where a lot of formulas, graphs, or structures must be drawn, the outline method should be replaced with a better note-taking system. How to Use Write points in an organized manner based on space indentation. Place major points farthest to the left. Indent each more specific point farther to the right (level of importance is indicated by distance away from left margin). Advantages The outlining method emphasizes content as well as relationships between the material. Also, it reduces the time needed for editing and allows for easy reviewing. Disadvantages This method requires more thought for accurate, understandable organization and, therefore, cannot be used during lectures that move too quickly. Example How to study from an outline:    I. Read through one line at a time          A. Explain the information and connect the idea to others presented    II. Check the accuracy of the information    III. Add clue words          A. Jot down keywords or details that you didn’t originally include in the outline          B. Use these keywords to jog your memory when studying from the outline    IV. Recite information from the outline......

Doing it this way insures my essay to have less mistakes and make more sense. I think this outline gives me a good start and will insurer I stay on topic and in sequence with the way they should be.
