Energy, Infrastructure and Communications
I n tandem with the pick-up in overall industrial growth, core industries and infrastructure services have also evinced signs of recovery with easing of supply bottlenecks in certain sectors and demand recovery in others. The robust growth momentum in telecommunications, particularly the wireless segment, continues with monthly additions exceeding 17.6 million connections. In the midst of the worstever slowdown in the history of world civil aviation, even the modest levels of growth in India are indicative of resilience. Core industries like power, coal and other infrastructure like ports and roads are also reviving. Available evidence points to a steady revival of flows of investible resources. However, the levels of broadband penetration, capacity creation in some crucial infrastructure sectors and the state of development of markets for longterm finance remain causes for concern. There is need to develop infrastructure to complement and sustain the economic growth momentum. Efforts—legislative, administrative and executive—are on to minimize the infrastructure deficit, ameliorate bottlenecks in completion of projects and nurture core industrial intermediates and infrastructure services.

Customer Loyalty

...Customer loyalty Customer loyalty is both an attitudinal and behavioral tendency to favor one brand over all others, whether due to satisfaction with the product or service, its convenience or performance, or simply familiarity and comfort with the brand.  Customer loyalty encourages consumers to shop more consistently, spend a greater share of wallet, and feel positive about a shopping experience, helping attract consumers to familiar brands in the face of a competitive environment. Customer loyalty is all about attracting the right customer, getting them to buy, buy often, buy in higher quantities and bring you even more customers. However, that focus is not how you build customer loyalty. * keeping touch with customers using email marketing, thank you cards and more. * treating your team well so they treat your customers well. * showing that you care and remembering what they like and don’t like. * You build it by rewarding them for choosing you over your competitors. * You build it by truly giving a damn about them and figuring out how to make them more success, happy and joyful. What is Customer Loyalty. Understanding the true definition of customer loyalty There are many definitions of customer loyalty. Yet each of them fails to realize that loyalty runs hand-in-hand with emotions. Customer loyalty is the result of consistently positive emotional experience, physical attribute-based satisfaction and perceived value of an experience, which......

Customer Loyalty

...Focus on Customer Loyalty For many years hospitality firms practiced conquest marketing. The goal of conquest marketing is to create as many new customers as possible. While marketing executives understood that it was important to satisfy the guests while they were on the property, they believed that guests’ satisfaction was the overall responsibility of the operations people. Marketing’s sole responsibility, they reasoned, was to continue to find new customers. Marketing has changed and marketing executives now realize that their sole responsibility does not end when the customer walks in the door. Instead, they need to be concerned with the whole experience of their guests in order to ensure that not only will guests return to the property, but they will also tell their friends to come and visit. This emphasis on the encouragement of repeat business is what is now called loyalty marketing or retention marketing. This type of marketing is the wave of the future. What do we mean by loyalty? Rob Smith, president of the loyalty marketing firm Focal Point Marketing, claims that loyalty occurs when the customer feels so strongly that you can best meet his or her relevant needs that your competition is virtually excluded from the consideration set and the customer buys almost exclusively from you – referring to you as “their casino” or “their hotel.” Loyalty marketing is important because loyal customers are more profitable than non loyal......

Wal-Mart Customer Service Paper

...(About.com, 2013). Applying Walton’s vision and principles for low competitive pricing and knowledge of customer preferences has mad Wal-Mart the largest retail giant in the nation. According to Paul Timm, “Ancillary services that complement the company’s main products can provide added convenience for customers,” (Timm 2011, 186). Wal-Mart is the best example of ancillary services for customers by offering services such as auto/tire services, lawn and gardening, deli/grocery, banking, hair salon, fast food, etcetera. Although Wal-Mart has implemented policies and rules which are to help their employees exemplify the company’s overall culture, they are seldom followed since the death their founder. They have been making the customer’s shopping experience memorable, but seldom in a positive way. Like me, most customers just shop at Wal-Mart out of habit or convenience. Timm’s theory on loyalty describes exactly how most of the shoppers like me view their stores, “Some people buy as a result of habit, convenience, or price but would be quick to defect to an alternative,” (12). There were many theories I learned in this course; however, one theory I feel is vitally important is greeting customers as they enter the store. When I was a seasonal employee with Wal-Mart, they had (and still have) a “10 Foot Rule” where employees are to greet and offer assistance to any customer who is within 10 feet of them, (About.com, 2013). Timm’s theory on greeting is quite simple, “When......

...and A.K. Khan and Company Ltd of Bangladesh. It has started its commercial operation in Dhaka as a Global system for mobile communication (GSM) 900 cellular operators on 15th November 1997. Moreover, Aktel has commenced its operation in Chittagong on March 26, 1998. Aktel is the market follower in telecommunication service in Bangladesh having more than 1 million subscribers and is controlling approximately 23% of the market share. According to Islam, Khan, and Rahman (2002), the market share of Aktel is now decreasing at a great extent as the customer loyalty level is decreasing. As the socioeconomic status of the country does not provide further possibilities to enhance the growth of the industry, as a market follower, Aktel should strive to retain its existing subscribers and penetrate other operator’s subscriber. Therefore, there is an emergence of studying the related facets of the customer loyalty in the context of Bangladesh GSM telecommunication system for Aktel to retain and increase its market share. Hence, in the current study, the researchers intend to examine whether there are relationships among service quality, customer satisfaction, trust, and customer loyalty in Aktel in Bangladesh or not. Customer Loyalty

...Customer loyalty has become a central goal of modern business. With each additional year of a relationship, customers become less costly to serve. Over time, as the loyalty life cycle plays out, loyal customers even become business builders: buying more, paying premium prices, and bringing in new customers through referrals (O’Brien & Jones, 1996). A rewards program can accelerate the loyalty cycle, encouraging first or second year customers to behave more like a company’s most profitable tenth-year customers – but only if it is planned and implemented as part of a larger loyalty management strategy (O’Brien & Jones, 1996). 4/5 consumers agree that companies should reward loyal customers instead of offering the best deals to new customers. This is particularly relevant to FMG who strives to compete on quality, not price. FMG has the need to adapt its current loyalty program to be more in-line with modern discussion around the topic. West (2004) found that when monetary rewards are given they tend to be spent on day-to-day living and the reward is not as morale boosting as hoped. Our current 1% discount per year model thus fails to provide our clients with the intended feeling of goodwill towards FMG. Moreover, as customers become accustomed to receiving a reward under a loyalty program they begin to view the rewards as an entitlement (Haisley & Loewenstein, 2011). This implies that while our reward magnitude is increasing over time, their perceived value will not......
