In some places (for example : Orava, Čadca) it´s 24 percent because there are small companies and these companies offer job for few people. In Orava are the largest companies : Johnson Controls, MTS, Panasonic or Hydac but these companies aren´t big as some companies in some big cities, which means that only some people have job there. People must look for some job abroad. The most popular places for work among slovak people are : the Czech republik, Austria, England and nowadays Norway, too. People have been working in this country for a two weeks and than they go home. A second reason, why people work abroad is, that the work abroad is better paid. They do the same work as in our country, but they have a higher salary. Work abroad has lots of advantages. For example, when you work as au-pair you can know some habits in the family where you work. You can make new friends and when you want to learn some foreign language, the work abroad and live abroad is the best way how to do it. Because you have to use language in this country. Other countries can be more advanced than our country so you can get more work experiences. These countries are often very rich and when you work in this country......

...the P/E ration you take the market value per share and divide that by the earnings per share. As per Yahoo Finance when I did the calculation, the market closed on MSFT at $25.60 per share. The annual EPS from past years and moving foreword for MSFT is 2.75. So you take 25.60/2.75=9.309 for the P/E ratio. As looking through other industry averages and other companies who are along the same lines as MSFT I would have to say there about in the middle, maybe a little above the average in terms of you should buy because as a stock it is a little bit lower priced than others industry. Thus, you could say it is minimally underpriced and you could invest, but I would not expect great gains in the near future by any means. Enrollment growth is normally critical to the for-profit education companies of DeVry Inc. This is important in order to meet revenue and profit expectations. Devry Inc. has reported a decline in new undergraduate student enrollment, the company’s largest and most profitable segment. But at Carrington College and Chamberlain College of Nursing were up, a sign that interests in vocational jobs are increasing (Devick, 2013). The impact of enrollment differ in both schools Devry and Chamberlain because students are grabbing more towards programs with a prominent future and healthcare is the best option compared to business programs. In sum, these are the organizational changes for Devry University and Chamberlain College of Nursing that explains growth in enrollment which produces the revenue for DeVry Inc....

According to a study by the Oregon Center for Public Policy, the minimum wage increases in Oregon did not harm welfare recipients’ opportunities to find work. In fact, a larger percentage of welfare recipients inOregon found jobs after the minimum wage increased than before the increases.” Discuss how these facts could be consistent with a downward-sloping demand curve for unskilled labor. ANSWER It is interesting to note that sharp increases in the Oregon state minimum wage duringthe late-1990s had little apparent effect on the ability of welfare recipients to find newhigher-pay job opportunities. While perhaps surprising, these facts are entirelyconsistent with a downward sloping demand curve for unskilled labor. By itself, asimple increase in the state minimum wage has the effect of decreasing the quantitydemanded of unskilled labor. This involves an upward movement along the labor demand curve. However, during the late-1990s, changes in the pace of economicactivity were not stagnant. The late-1990s was a period of robust economicexpansion and rising demand for labor. As sales rise, companies are able to spendmore to attract......

...The VARK Anaylsis: Learning Styles Lesley Good Grand Canyon University Family Centered Health Promotion NRS-429V October 19, 2015 The VARK Analysis: Learning Styles Over the years, research has discovered that the ability for students to learn is based off of an individual’s strengths, weakness, and learning preferences. These learning preferences are divided into five categories: visual, auditory, reading/writing, kinesthetic, and multimodality. The VARK analysis developed in 1987 by Neil Fleming “was the first to systematically present a series of questions with helpsheets for students, teachers, employees, customers, suppliers, and others” (VARK Learn Limited, 2015) to determine an individual’s unique approach to the learning process. “VARK is an acronym for the Visual (V), Auditory (A), Read/Write (R) and the Kinesthetic (K) sensory modalities” (Kharb, Samanta, Jindal, & Singh, 2013). To better understand how this process works we will establish a scenario using Student A, allowing her to access the VARK questionnaire and give us some insight and understanding on how the evaluation process works to establish an individual’s learning style. The VARK questionnaire consists of 16 questions and given the results we will review the learning style for Student A, compare preferred learning strategies to the identified strategies, and discuss how the recognition of individual learning styles, preferences and strategies influence teaching and learning. Summary of......

...Understand and recognise assumptions and inferences as opposed to concrete facts • Think analytically and critically (what are the options available) • Understand and assess interpersonal relationships • Exercise and make judgements • Communicate ideas and opinions • Make and defend decisions Remember that case studies require you to solve or at least make suggestions on how to solve business problems, which are common to all organisations. Unfortunately this does not necessarily mean that you will have encountered the type of organisation before – and this can put off students. But also remember that the majority of students are in the same situation. The way around this is to imagine yourself in the job – you have been asked to carry out the tasks outlined in the question. All case studies are base on real life scenarios or as close to reality as possible – it is therefore likely that you could be in this role at some stage in your career. If you succeed in this, you will be able to demonstrate sensitivity towards the feelings of others and for those in differing roles in the organisation. Option 1 approaches you can utilise are as follows: • Identify the strengths and weaknesses within the organisation • Gather information on the external environment (such as what type of industry it is in, who are its competitors) • Analyse your findings (by comparing the strengths and weaknesses within......

...In The Silver Star by Jeannette Walls, Liz is an exceptionally intelligent and independent child for someone her age, of only fifteen years old. Because of her extreme responsibility and compassion for those around her, she is a great role model for Bean, her little sister. Other than being a role model, Liz's main purpose is to serve as the maternal figure for Bean since their birth mother leaves for weeks at a time, and is not around to support them. Liz shows her role by always taking care of Bean when their mom decides to leave. To begin, Liz achieved her maternal role to Bean, by getting a job of her own, "Liz had been doing some babysitting, but after Mom had been gone a week, she decided to take on extra work, and I got a job delivering Grit, a newspaper with useful stories..." (Walls 15). Liz knows that if she is not independent and got a job then there was no way that her and Bean could survive without their mother. Also it was her idea to leave for Byler so that the bandersnatchers, which is the girls word for the police, would not be able to take them away to Child Protective Services. Liz always knew what to do in these kind of situations, as we are told by Bean, which makes Liz very dependable. Also, Liz is remarkably intelligent, which we know because she is always complimented by teachers, parents and other adults about how outstanding she is. But not only is Liz considered to be smart in school, or "book smart", she also knows how to deal with......

...hire new management that will be able to communicate much better. Lack of communication is definitely a weakness and also makes the company look bad when handling public cases such as the case on the recalls that they received on their vehicles. Opportunities The first opportunity is to allow the company to grow by creating more fuel-efficient cars. Gas prices are on the rise and people need to get to school or maybe work. Chevy could capitalize on this idea by creating more fuel efficient cars. Doing so would also help to beat out the competition. Creating more fuel-efficient vehicles is an opportunity for Chevy because, it gives them the opportunity to expand and make more revenue. This also gives Chevy the opportunity to create more jobs for hard working people. Creating more fuel-efficient cars will allow GM to grow. GM is already a big automotive company and adding another good car to their stock would make them more desirable to the consumer. The second opportunity is that GM has the opportunity to buy back their shares in the company. Buying back their shares is an opportunity because, once they have bought backs their shares. GM has basically bought back their debt. After buying back their shares they could use the rest of the money to build their company back up (AP, 2013). Threats The first threat is that the demand for GM vehicles has decreased. Shannon Bond a US media & marketing correspondent at Financial Times stated in an article called GM and Ford......

...Amanda Boothe Professor Anu Williams Communications 110 June 1, 2012 In the US, it is commonly believed that image is everything. I have to agree with this statement because a person’s image says a lot. The way you look, dress, talk, and overall present yourself influence the way people look at you. In the workplace, employers want well groomed, clean cut, attractive people. For example, say two different people (both males) apply for the same position. One male is wearing a business suit, clean cut, and clean shaven. The other male has on jeans, a nice polo, has stringy long hair, and a little beard. Odds are the first male will get the job, just because he “looks” cleaner. The same goes for females. The first female is older, obese, wearing a dress, with her hair pulled up. The second female is young, tan, nice business suit, hair fixed in curls. Chances are the second female will get the position. There have been studies done to show situations like this are happening in America today. As an employee of a great company, I always try to look my best. I always dress nicely and fix my hair and make up. I hope my employer and other employees see me as a nice dressed, professional young lady. On the other hand, on the weekends, it is a different story. If I’m at home or just going to the store, I’m usually just in comfortable clothes, with a thrown up hairstyle! Another example of how image is everything is the way people communicate and their assertiveness.......
