Topic I

What chance do we American citizens have of survival with the failing out-of-control medical system of the United States, is probably a question that comes up in debates quite often. Some would say that the system is just, and fair to our communities, and others would say that it isn't, and there are others who really don't care. To be perfectly honest I feel as though the system does indeed work, but there are plenty of changes that need to occur. You see I have never been in a situation to see firsthand the medical system fail neither I, or my family and friends. But on the other hand I have read and heard stories of how if the doctors had of caught an illness earlier, or if they did something different in procedure during an operation peoples loved ones would still be alive. So in regards the question of whether or not I feel the system works, my answer is yes, because it hasn't failed me yet. Taking a specific look at the Michael Jackson case, you see that the medical system has once again caught the blame for an untimely death. But in my opinion I feel as though Michael Jackson himself is to blame. Some would ask how I could say something like that, don't you know he was a legend? My answer to them is this; Michael was truly indeed a legend, a legend like most other stars dealing with some type of dejection which caused his fixation with Propofol which is a powerful anesthetic not meant for home use, which in the end is said to be the main cause of his death. It wasn't the system that killed Michael Jackson, but instead it was a drug that he chose to administer on himself. That being said, it goes back to when I made the statement of there being some changes made in the system. One is most definitely the access to these powerful deadly drugs, that if administered without the proper individuals, it most definitely has the capability of killing someone. Which is the sole reason in Michael Jacksons case. I would also like to see bigger Hospital Emergency stations, there are way too many incidences when people are waiting for hours, and hours for them to be seen. If you make the stations bigger, you can have more doctors and nurses, and the less people would have to wait to be helped. I think society as a whole, should stop and think of what they can do to help, rather than getting mad and pointing the finger. Are there cases where something else could have been done to save one's life, I'm sure there are. But what did the family do to rectify that occurrence? Did they stand up and report it, and demand that it never happened again to someone else's loved one? Or did they just sick back and complain along with the millions of other American citizens? What happened to Michael Jackson was very unfortunate, but how many other people has this happened to and no one has said anything. What chance do we American citizens have of survival with the failing out-of-control medical system of the United States, is no longer the appropriate question. But instead the question should now be; What as American citizens can we do to help our medical system, when we have unlimited resources at our feet?…...

Managerial Dimension

...The textbook discusses managerial dimensions in the context of conducting good research and that the research follows a scientific method. The managerial dimensions of the scientific method are listed as: 1) purpose clearly defined, 2) research process detailed, 3) research design thoroughly planned, 4) high ethical standards applied, 5) limitations frankly revealed, 6) adequate analysis for decision maker's needs, 7) findings presented unambiguously, 8) conclusions justified, and 9) researcher's experience reflected (Cooper & Schindler, 2011, p. 12). Each managerial dimension promotes effective research by creating a framework that will promote a complete story with each dimension providing support for another dimension. Effective research provides clarity and information in the support of reaching a decision or answer to the dilemma that is posed. The dimensions create avenues of validity when questions of integrity or choice are raised. The desired results of most research is in the production of answers or decision options of a defined or proposed dilemma. Each dimension helps ensure that all of the necessary questions have been asked within a designed structure capable of producing valid results. High ethics aid in the creation of accurate results that address the topic at hand and don't stray off on tangents. The attention to detail creates the clarity that will support the defined problem. The dimensions reflect the experience, which aids in the......

Strategies that would suit better to be effective for me would be writing down unfamiliar terms that I’m not known to nor not seen in a sentence. Best thing when learning newer terms is to integrated within your writing or having conservations with others to learn how to use them properly. existing lists and Another strategy I would use using the term or word whether in conversation or writing as it would help me familiarize myself more with the term or word. ...Topic: Teacher’s Knowledge, Identity and Major Learning Theories Using your knowledge of teacher’s knowledge bases, major learning theories and teaching preferences define your identity as ‘teacher’. Then reflect upon this position in terms of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in respect to teaching practice. Introduction In this paper I will explore teacher knowledge bases, major learning theories, teacher identity and teaching preferences by commenting on a VET teacher who we will call Mr Black. I will then reflect upon his application of each in term of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in respect to his teaching practice. The subject, Mr Black, is retained by one organisation to conduct training and assessments for a specific group of tradesmen who will be working on a major infrastructure upgrade project. The duration of his contract is to be no more than 4 years. Mr Blacks’ background is in a related technical field and he holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment therefore he falls into the VET stream of Education Robertson (Robertson I. , 2008) has suggested that Certificate IV in Training and Assessment may provide enough opportunity to develop the applied skills required for an expert teacher. Teachers working in Vocational Education and Training (VET) face in an increasingly complex and diverse environment as highlighted by Robertson (Robertson I. , 2007) Teachers and teaching roles come in all shapes and sizes and so it is......

...Leroy Thomas HIS 211 Topic A Jimmy Hampton June 2, 2014 Jonathan Edwards evoked vivid, terrifying images of the utter corruption of human nature and the terrors awaiting the unrepentant in hell. Jonathan Edwards’s famous description of the sinner as a loathsome spider suspended by a slender thread over a pit of seething brimstone in his best known sermon, “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.”(1741) The First Great Awakening also gained impetus from the wide-ranging American travels of an English preacher, George Whitefield. Although Whitefield had been ordained as a minister in the Church of England, he later allied with other Anglican clergymen who shared his evangelical bent, most notably John and Charles Wesley. Together they led a movement to reform the Church of England (much as the Puritans had attempted earlier to reform that church) which resulted in the founding of the Methodist Church late in the eighteenth century. During his several trips across the Atlantic after 1739, Whitefield preached everywhere in the American colonies, often drawing audiences so large that he was obliged to preach outdoors. What Whitefield preached was nothing more than what other Calvinists had been proclaiming for centuries that sinful men and women were totally dependent for salvation on the mercy of a pure, all-powerful God. But Whitefield and many American preachers who eagerly imitated his style presented that message in novel ways. Gesturing dramatically, sometimes......

Review research on language acquisition with particular focus on bilingual acquisition. What are the advantages and disadvantages of early bilingual acquisition? Which position is more compelling? 3. Is language innate or just part of general cognition? The specific way that we acquire language is a contentious debate in the field of linguistics. Some researchers believe that humans are born with an innate, specialized mental module which facilitates the acquisition of language in young children. Other researchers believe that language acquisition occurs through general cognitive capabilities that are not necessarily language-specific. For this topic, you may either a) Choose a position in this debate and defend your position, or b) based on your research into these two sides, discuss what type of argument or evidence would be required to settle this debate in favour of either side. ...Topic 1: What career would you like to choose after leaving school Model answer: Today, it is not easy to choose a career. Hundreds of students pass various examinations every year and compete with one another for positions in the various professions which are not so many as there are applicants. I would, however, like to choose teaching as my career. Teaching is an interesting career for several reasons. As a teacher I can learn many things, especially if I teach to an udder-secondary school. If I teach History or English, for example, I have to read many books to make my teaching lessons more interesting to my pupils. Thus, I can acquire more knowledge of the subjects that I teach than what I can learn from the class text books. It is indeed a fact that a teacher learns a lot from the class text books; but that is hardly enough to make the teacher's lessons interesting to pupils. A good teacher must therefore read many other books. Again, as a teacher, I have to speak well so that my pupils will be able to understand my instructions well. In this way I can improve my powers of expression. Even my pronunciation of words will improve to great extent. Further, as a teacher, I shall have enough leisure to read and prepare for various examinations. It is possible today to sit for many important examinations by studying entirely at home. Thus, I can acquire important qualifications. Finally, as a teacher I will be respected as an educated person. People will......
