Career Development Plan Summary – Kudler Fine Foods
Sherry Martin
HRM/531

Since my promotion as Human Resource Manager at Kudler Fine Foods, I have been working extremely hard to work on my career development plan for my new team at our La Jolla store. A much needed purchasing manager will be hired, and four new positions will open up for our new Supervisor in Training Program (SIT). It has been made clear to me that my team at will be hired to train in La Jolla and upon completion of Carlsbad location they will move there to train other new employees, and will become part of the supervisory team. Due to this team preparing for supervision responsibilities the position will require employees who are willing to work hard to ensure the new store opening in exceeds expectations.
The Job Descriptions and Qualifications for Five New Positions
I think it is crucial to hire for five new positions, one in which will be a purchasing manager position. With the changes and expansion happening at Kudler’s, owner Kathy Kudler needs to relieve some pressure and hire a person who can be responsible for all purchasing, inventory reporting, and record keeping for all three locations. This person can be a new hire or a current employee who will work out of the La Jolla store but must be able to travel to other store locations when needed (25% of time). The Purchasing manager will work closely with owner and president of the company ensuring the store is making purchasing decisions based on inventory levels, expiration dates, and most importantly demand. The purchasing manager will work along the Inventory manager to establish appropriate inventory levels for stores, compile and maintain records of quantity, type and value of inventory on hand. The required qualifications and experience for this position requires five years experience in retail purchasing, inventory,…...

...Career Development Plan Part 2 Individual Assignment: Career Development Plan Part II – Development of a Training and Mentoring Program. Sherry Martin HRM/531     Example #1 Running head: CAREER DEVELOPMENT PLAN PART 2 Career Development Plan – Part 2 The second part of the development plan will address the training needs for each individual chosen to be a member of my team that will help them achieve the strategic goals for the company. To assess training needs and develop a plan to meet those needs, an analysis needs to be performed on four levels. Analysis needs to be done organizationally to determine what training is needed by employees to accomplish the strategic goals of the company. The next analysis is done on the demographics of the workers. This analysis will ask the question, are there any groups of employees that need specialized training to help them meet the goals. The next analysis should be done on the operation. This aspect will help assess what job specific requirements the employees need to be trained on. The final analysis is done on the individual level and will assess how each individual performs their job and what specific training may be necessary to help them do the job better (Casio, 2005). Organizationally, the strategic goal for InterClean is to become a global leader in providing products and solutions for all their customer’s sanitation needs. Our next step is to develop a performance and career management program that continues to work in alignment with the company’s new strategic direction. I have put together a Career Development Plan that reflects the restructuring of the team members. For clarity, I want to first explain the job analysis methods we applied to aid in the selection of our newly improved team. If we are to put together a successful and diverse team, we need to analyze and define the jobs that we will require to be performed.
