Assignment Topic Due Date: Friday, noon, of week 8

Semester Three 2013

Georgia provides a home pet care service as well as being a financial planner. Malcolm is interested in obtaining home pet care as he is expected to be away from home for a week. After a brief phone call, Georgia attends Malcolm’s home to meet his pets. Malcolm begins to talk to Georgia about the rates for her service and specifically mentions that he requires home pet car for both his award winning rabbit and his tropical fish. He explains that he is soon to show his award winning rabbit at a show in Melbourne where, if he wins, he will receive $10,000. During the conversation Georgia states ‘I am a professional, an animal lover and that this should not be a problem’. She informs Malcolm that her rate for caring for both his rabbit and fish will be $100 per day for a total of $700 for the week she is to care for them. The next day, Georgia emails Malcolm a copy of a standard form contract that she uses with all of her home pet care clients. This standard form contract contains (inter alia) the following clause:

‘Georgia maintains the highest standards in animal care. However Georgia will not be liable for death or illness of tropical fish due to their specific vulnerabilities.’

Malcolm is very busy preparing for his trip away. Consequently, he does not read the contract but signs it and returns it to Georgia in person along with a cheque for $700. While he is away Georgia attends frequently to the pets but incorrectly feeds the fish the rabbit food and the rabbit the fish food. Upon returning home the following week, Malcolm finds that his tropical fish worth thousands of dollars have died. In addition, due to…...

...myself more with the term or word. I learned a lot of new applications that I will definitely utilize. I have used Previewing a few times in the past but have never made a habit of it. I think it will be a great thing to start using though. It allows you to get a great feel for how long the chapter is and how long it should take you to read. As well as giving you an idea of what the main topics are going to be. Marking is a great way to condense an entire chapter into just the important ideas. That way when it comes time to studying you already have the important parts highlighted or underlined. I have already started to get ideas for making sure I have a place I can read with concentration. I plan on doing a lot of my reading this summer outside on the patio where I have peace and quiet. When the weather is not permitting or when it gets colder again I plan on going to the library or setting my office up with a corner that I am able to read in. The last of the four steps is going to be very important if I want my study time to be efficient. I will often check back to previous notes and assignments so that the ideas stay fresh in my brain. That way when it comes to time to study for a test I am not having to learn everything all over again. I plan on doing a compilation of a few of the vocabulary strategies. When I am reading and come across a word or phrase that I do not understand I am going to make note of it. I will go back later and assess everything I need help......

Mba 5652 Unit 1 Assignment - Research Proposal Topic

...MBA 5652 Unit 1 Research Proposal Topic Exercise 1 My top ten research topics that I find interesting to pursue are the following: (1) approach for extra ( increase in minimum wage) income and advertising, (2) concussions in football, (3) should transportation security (TSA) regulations be changed ?, (4) should regulations regarding the use of cellular phones while driving be standardized ?, (5) should driving under the influence (DUI) laws be changed ?, (6) concealed guns be permitted in stores, (7) computer forensics, (8) financial crimes, such as embezzlement, (9) cyber terrorism, (10) cyber criminology, internet child pornography. The new approach for extra income appeal to me because as a consequence of the current enhancement in minimum earnings, there is an boost in the optional profits of existing marketing foundation. Concussions in football also appeal to me because I have two children that play football and I do not want them to experience the problems that college and pro players are having. I believe that the transportation security (TSA) regulations should be changed so that it allows the TSA to protect the United States and its populace. In my opinion the regulations regarding the use of cellular phones should be standardized because different states have different laws regarding the use of cell phones. The last topic in my top 5 is should the laws concerning DUIs be changed. I say yes they should, meaning right now some states have the blood......

...Leroy Thomas HIS 211 Topic A Jimmy Hampton June 2, 2014 Jonathan Edwards evoked vivid, terrifying images of the utter corruption of human nature and the terrors awaiting the unrepentant in hell. Jonathan Edwards’s famous description of the sinner as a loathsome spider suspended by a slender thread over a pit of seething brimstone in his best known sermon, “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.”(1741) The First Great Awakening also gained impetus from the wide-ranging American travels of an English preacher, George Whitefield. Although Whitefield had been ordained as a minister in the Church of England, he later allied with other Anglican clergymen who shared his evangelical bent, most notably John and Charles Wesley. Together they led a movement to reform the Church of England (much as the Puritans had attempted earlier to reform that church) which resulted in the founding of the Methodist Church late in the eighteenth century. During his several trips across the Atlantic after 1739, Whitefield preached everywhere in the American colonies, often drawing audiences so large that he was obliged to preach outdoors. What Whitefield preached was nothing more than what other Calvinists had been proclaiming for centuries that sinful men and women were totally dependent for salvation on the mercy of a pure, all-powerful God. But Whitefield and many American preachers who eagerly imitated his style presented that message in novel ways. Gesturing dramatically, sometimes......

...innate or just part of general cognition? The specific way that we acquire language is a contentious debate in the field of linguistics. Some researchers believe that humans are born with an innate, specialized mental module which facilitates the acquisition of language in young children. Other researchers believe that language acquisition occurs through general cognitive capabilities that are not necessarily language-specific. For this topic, you may either a) Choose a position in this debate and defend your position, or b) based on your research into these two sides, discuss what type of argument or evidence would be required to settle this debate in favour of either side. Whichever approach you choose, make sure to focus on specific types of evidence, whether they are phonological, syntactic, or otherwise, and how that evidence bears on the larger question. ...Topic 1: What career would you like to choose after leaving school Model answer: Today, it is not easy to choose a career. Hundreds of students pass various examinations every year and compete with one another for positions in the various professions which are not so many as there are applicants. I would, however, like to choose teaching as my career. Teaching is an interesting career for several reasons. As a teacher I can learn many things, especially if I teach to an udder-secondary school. If I teach History or English, for example, I have to read many books to make my teaching lessons more interesting to my pupils. Thus, I can acquire more knowledge of the subjects that I teach than what I can learn from the class text books. It is indeed a fact that a teacher learns a lot from the class text books; but that is hardly enough to make the teacher's lessons interesting to pupils. A good teacher must therefore read many other books. Again, as a teacher, I have to speak well so that my pupils will be able to understand my instructions well. In this way I can improve my powers of expression. Even my pronunciation of words will improve to great extent. Further, as a teacher, I shall have enough leisure to read and prepare for various examinations. It is possible today to sit for many important examinations by studying entirely at home. Thus, I can acquire important qualifications. Finally, as a teacher I will be respected as an educated person. People will......
